Abstract:Today the selection of key personnel is recognized as among the most critical elements in the strategic operation of an organization. One function of a staffing change is to realign an organization with its external environment. Organizations and the departments within them go through life cycles, resulting in different leadership requirements at different times. By reviewing how the position and the department have been affected by part changes in leadership and objectives, the job description for the future can be designed to fit emerging strategic requirements. The four stages of this process are provided.
