Abstract:This paper explores the creation of global lobbies for large family firms over the last two decades, and the strong relation established in this period between collective action, education and internationalization in the strategies of such firms. The establishments of the Spanish Institute of Family Firms, a global lobbyist of its associated members, is considered to be an early European adaption of pioneering North American lobbies and a model for other European and Latin American associations of large family firms.
