| Abstract: | A separate logistics concept for international distribution is proposed, whereby the movement of the export order is emphasized. The movement of materials into and within the firm remains part of the domestic logistics system. The particular problems inherent in international distribution are considered, and greater integration of export shipping and export sales may be also necessary. The measurement of the value of the order pipeline is also suggested as a supporting analytical technique. This separate concept of international distribution seeks to illuminate problems rather than detracting from the value of the domestic equivalent. |
