Abstract:Systems theory forms the basis for information processing systems. Explored are the history of systems theory and the application of the basic concepts of formal systems to local area networks. To support the concept of a system, a basic structure was developed defining a system as consisting of the following: elements, objects - things that can form a system and can be linked together for information exchange; interdependence - with and among the various other elements; feedback - for the transfer of information to all levels; and purpose.
