Abstract:In dealing with the problems of management, a basic perspective must always be chosen in advance. In doing this, the relevant aspects of a firm and the criterion of its rationality are decided. Four theories have been developed and used in the last few decades, which can be applied as useful theoretical means in investigating such problems. The theory of factors considers a corporation as a combination of productive means, labour and materials. the theory of the science of behaviour emphasizes the human side of production. The theory of system provides more complex relations for the research. The fourth theory looks upon a firm as a societal institution, and emphasizes the importance of social values and norms.
