ANALYTICAL REVIEW

Abstract:The author states that if you have watched the loyalty marketing industry for any length of time, you have probably recognised the maturation of industry software. As little as five years ago, if you wanted any sophistication in loyalty programme implementation you pretty much had to roll-your-own or partner with a vendor that would cobble together pieces of systems to meet your specific requirements at least your specific requirements on the date the RFP was finished. The roll- your-own solution was and continues to be an attractive solution, although its appeal is waning. Loyalty seems seductively simple: spend a dollar, earn a point. The authors call it the 'easy to start, hard to finish' trap. It little like building a house. Everybody has seen it done.
