Abstract:Corporate executives recognize that global competition requires managerial action to improve competitiveness. So, what is new? New is the integration of the concepts of continuous improvement and systems management with the strategy of customer value. Global competitors are piecing together the concepts of continuous improvement and systems management from gurus like Deming, Ishikawa, and Imai and directing their efforts towards implementing a strategy which focuses on improving customer value. Global competitors are making these concepts a part of their mission, values, and strategies.
