| Abstract: | Integration from raw materials right through to finished goods in the shelves is turning from dream to reality. Although this may seem a long way ahead, the development in the manufacturing, distribution and retail markets is so rapid that an integrated approach is much closer than one might think. As the manufacturers themselves move towards JIT production, the next logical step is JIT procurement, JIT distribution of the finished goods and even JIT shelf stacking for final delivery to the customer. |
