| Abstract: | Xinjiang Autonomous Region will become the hot bed of foreign investment in the next century. The reasons for it are as follows: Xinjiang enjoys the superiority of its geographical position and natural environment. Besides, it is blessed with abundant underground resources and tourist resources. In line with the state's strategy of shifting the focus of economic development to the western area, Xinjiang will be turned into China's cotton and sugar-refining base, the country's important base of oil and chemical industries, the base of textile industry as well as the bases of such industries as nonferrous metal industry, light industry, metallurgical industry, building materials industry, machine building industry and electronics industry. |
