Abstract:The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is the trade association representing most of the world's scheduled airlines. The IATA General Conditions of Carriage are a comprehensive set of terms and conditions drafted by IATA to cover the contractual relationship between passengers and airlines belonging to IATA. The purpose of this article is to examine, from the perspective of a United Kingdom consumer, whether the newly enacted Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1994 (UTCCR) will have any impact upon the General Conditions.
