Abstract:The authors of the article state that professional services firms, such as accounting, business consulting, investment banking, law, and public relations/advertising, are facing new challenges. Confidence in PSFs has been shaken. Extensive government regulation seems imminent. Individuals and agencies that spent little time investigating and analyzing such firms are now reading about them in the daily press, and wondering where the current failures of management and governance will lead. The paper also states that drawing from research in governance, top management team decision-making, and leadership, the authors identify 10 challenges that PSFs face, and suggest responses for leadership.
