| Abstract: | This paper deals with relational sociology of organization seeking at addressing concerns on how organizational action is understood etc. It is aimed at causal explanation over description and/or prediction, seeking to avoid pure voluntarism or structural determinism. Advocated is relational analysis recognizing and engaging with connections within and across organization and with wider contexts. Briefly reviewed are three approaches: i. relational pragmatism, ii. the social theorizing of Bourdieu and iii. critical realism. The purpose is to encourage analysis exploring the connections within and btw. perspectives and theoretical positions. |
