| Abstract: | The events of 1980 and 1981 forced International Harvester to restructure. It was a conventional company with traditional thinking, where individuality and venturesomeness were banned. Year after year the company earned a return lower than the cost of capital. The barriers to innovation and the changes are demonstrated. |
