Abstract: | The entrepreneurial orientation of a firm is demonstrated by the extent to which the top managers are inclined to take business-related risks, to favour change and innovation in order to obtain a competitive advantage for their firm, and to compete with other firms. Entrepreneurial firms are those in which the top managers have entrepreneurial management styles, as evidenced by the firms' strategic decisions and operating management philosophies. The alignment between top management's entrepreneurial orientation and organization structure is associated with firm performance. The utility of an entrepreneurial top management style is depending upon the structure of an organization. |
