| Abstract: | A recent study reports where the selected 80 companies most often stumbled and fell. These 80 companies completed IS planning and had good experiences. Strategic IS planning means developing a long-range plan for automating business functions. The survey illuminates some solutions to the most common problems. A comparison of what most companies do and what they should do is presented and evaluated. Strategic IS planning also entails convincing top management and user management to utilize expensive computer resources for optimum applications. |
