| Abstract: | The results of a research project of the Zurich University are described and analyzed. The main objective of the project was to find out differences between the financially successful and the less successful companies. In an exploratory, quasi-experimental field study eight middle-sized, but important Swiss companies were investigated. Based upon the results of this study lawlike statements could be made regarding the factors and conditions of business success. Using a global perspective some "secrets" of the long-term prosperity are highlighted. It is shown how success follows success. Issues associated with corporate structure, corporate strategy and human resources are summarized. Future research is needed to make forecasting more reliable. |
