| Abstract: | The UK beer market has held up well in recent years. At 36.00mn bulk barrels (bb) in 1999, sales volume was down 10% on the 39.90mn bb of a decade earlier (and 15% below the 1979 record) but there has been only marginal decline since 1993, when sales stood at 36.16mn bb. A weak start to the 1990s was thus followed by broad stability over the remainder of the decade. |
