| Abstract: | As companies grow larger how can managers retain an organization's sense of identity? The answer lies in nurturing the right organizational culture. But what is culture, and is there only one right kind? Challenging traditional business thinking on these questions, the authors introduce a new way to define culture. They identify four types, each appropriate for different environments. The task for managers now, they say, is to assess whether their own culture is right for the challenges ahead. |
