| Abstract: | The results of forecast and analysis of macro department concerned show that after the year 2000, China's demand for paper and paper board will exceed Japan's and thus become the country with the largest consumption of paper in Asia. If demand is calculated by an annual growth rate of no less than 8%, starting from 1997, by the year 2000, China's demand for paper and paper board will reach 35 million tons or above. And if China's output of paper and paper board rises by an annual growth rate of 7%, by the year 2000, the total output will reach 36 million tows or so. Such a total output can basically satisfy market demand. |
