| Abstract: | The electric coffee makers market of the UK includes espresso/capuccino machines, filter coffee makers and percolators. It excludes manual "plunge-in" jugs. In 1989 unit sales fell by 20 percent and market value declined to GBP 15 million with less than 700,000 units. The market is tiny in the UK compared with the USA and other big countries because of the preference for tea. Permanent filter machines were the greatest sector in 1989. The coffee maker market in the UK 1985-1989 is overviewed, and compared with selected markets for 1989. Trade in filter coffee makers 1985-1989 is presented, and the breakdown of the market by sectors 1989 is shown. Statistical data for ownership and market shares are shown. |
