Abstract:Widened regional gaps occur world-widely during industrialization. It is suggested that, in order to narrow the gaps between China's different regions, the practice of dividing China into eastern, central and western economic zones should be reformed; the axis development strategy linking the east with west adopted; a pole of growth developed in the west on which to reproduce effect of SEZ; the structure of ownership dominated by non-state economy and industrial structure in which light and heavy industry develop simultaneously created; and securities exchanges set up in the west. This will take time.
