Abstract: | Part of the key to the Hewlett-Packards long-running success in product innovation was the splitting of the organisation into scores of smaller units. Yet, HP transformed their structure of scores of divisions, organised by products, and regrouped the company around five business sectors - organised by markets. The old corporate style defined and codified as The HP Way was: honesty and integrity pay as you go, belief in people, customer satisfaction, teamwork, an open door policy and managing by wandering about. The new style emphasize products and services of the highest quality and market-orientation. |
