Abstract:There is growing concern with the high quality of products and services in the markets. Quality circle is a helpful instrument in quality assurance. It is a a very efficient form of group work which is applied in many companies nowadays with considerable success. Some suggestions are made on how to introduce quality circles into the everyday practice of quality assurance. A case example from the furniture industry is presented. A number of risks and opportunities are mentioned. Quality circle as a module of company culture is characterized. A list of possible purposes concerning the work of quality circles is provided. The problems of the management of team work are examined.
