| Abstract: | The market was worth an estimated £1.69 bn in 1997, up 9% on the previous year and 21% on 1993. Sales of bedroom furniture account for around 23% of all expenditure on furniture. Beds and mattresses comprise the largest and fastest growing sector. Total sales of bedroom furniture will increase by 24% between 1997 and 2002, with beds and mattresses accounting for most of this growth. |
