Abstract:The retail market for fruit juices in France, Italy, the UK, Germany, Spain and Benelux is examined here. Fruit juices have benefited from a wider target audience preoccupied with health and nutritional issues. The sales remain weather dependent. Growth has been fuelled by new product innovations. Pack size developments have polarised around larger formats and smaller single-serve packaging. Private label penetration is high, price competition has kept price rises to a minimum and reduced the margins across the industry. The industry is characterised by increasing consolidation.
