Abstract:The popularity of traditional carbonates is decreasing in favour of still drinks. The carbonates still represent the most important sector within the market, accounting for 46.3% of total volume sales in 1997. Between 1993-1997 volume sales of fruit-based still drinks grew by 187.5% to 46 million litres. Volume sales of "other carbonates" decreased by 2.3% over the review period. The launch of new products has brought further dynamism to the market. Market volume increased by 17.6% over the review period to 3,388 litres in 1997.
