Abstract: | The Spoils Kitchen Reject chain is in the seemingly very unpromising business of distributing household products - not just kitchenware, pottery and glass but also bulky inessentials like basket-work furniture. With a few shops, Spoils is beginning to expand quite fast in a climate rather hostile to the smaller, privately-owned retailers. The merchandise may be run-of-the-mill, but the manner of its presentation is of high standard. A few lines are manufactured to Spoils' own specification, although the company prefers to be offered a number of designs. Ca 70 per cent of the goods range is core, and therefore repeatable. For the management not calculating figures, but overall performance is important. |
