Abstract: | The last 10 years have seen acquisition as a favoured means to maintain earnings per share expectations despite the risks. The formation of the Single Market has accelerated activity yet there are still a high number of failures. A survey was undertaken to ascertain the context of British cross-border acquisition activity in Europe. The apparent major reason was the desire to expand from the national domestic market but remain based on existing product-market strengths. |
