| Abstract: | This section of the Journal reports regular forecasts of macroeconomic activity for a selection of Asia-Pacific nations. This issue gives quarterly ex ante forecasts for the USA, Japan, Korea , Australia, and New Zealand for the period through to the fourth quarter of 1988 and updates the forecasts for these countries over this horizon that were reported in the previous issues of the Journal. The forecasts given here are based on time series models that make extensive use of automated model selection procedures. |
