| Abstract: | The performance of a manufacturing system is determined by the effectiveness of its control strategy. The success of the latter is critically dependent upon information intensive activities: information collection, transfer and processing. Each of these activities consumes time and thus causes delays: information delays. This paper focuses on the design of a control strategy for a simple system operating in a stochastic environment with information delays. Simulation results show the potential of fuzzy control in situations with significant information delays. |
