Abstract:This survey examines the European retail market for pasta in France, Italy, the UK, Germany and Spain. The period is 1993-1997 for current data and 1997-2002 for the future outlook of the market. The report covers the retail market for pasta and noodle products, with sales through hotels, restaurants and take-aways therefore excluded. Most markets will fail to achieve substantial growth in their real values in 1997 as falling prices in the stagnant dry sector undermine the impact of rising sales of fresh pasta and varying shifts to premium products.
