Abstract: | Workplace deviance has possible significant economic costs and benefits, which is why many authors have been interested in the drivers of deviant behaviour. Workaholism is becoming a more common phenomenon and there is a need to understand its positive and negative consequences better in an organizational context. An exploratory study is presented in the article and three components of workaholism with measures of workplace constructive and destructive deviance are examined. The data was gathered within six companies in Brazil using anonymously completed questionnaires. Workaholism components seem to be according to the results linked to two measures of deviance, which supports to some extent the relationship that was assumed to be found. |
