Abstract:Some people adhere to the ethical standards specified by their professional association, rather than the corporation that is paying their salary. In their advanced training, professionals are taught the equivalency between ethical responsibility and professional responsibility. Managers, in spite of their advanced schooling, are not acting "professionally" most of the time, they should be first identified with their corporations. Some practical strategies are suggested to accommodate professional and managerial ethical standards. The following ones are discussed in detail: mentorship programs; instilling ethical consciousness; installing a process to nurture ethics; institutionalizing ethical practice ensuring commitment.
