Abstract:Studies on the competitive power of China's cities are conducive to cities' looking squarely at themselves and formulating a correct development strategy, the formation of rational regional economy, the state's evaluating correctly the status quo and potential of China's cities and Chinese cities' participating in international competition. The competitive power of cities is a comprehensive mirror of the production capacity, the quality of life, comprehensive social progress and the external influence of cities. The major determinants of competitive power are comprehensive economic strength, financial strength, opening level, talent and sci-tech level and infrastructure facilities besides being far-sighted in ideology, advanced in system and moderate in policy.
