Abstract:This article considers economy of the European Union and studies whether it can compete with the economy of the United States of America. The author states that there are signs that Europe is coming into the sun with a distinctively European approach to long-term competitiveness Rather then acting as a timid emulator of everything American, Europe is forging its own competitive position. The author also compares the advantages and disadvantages of both economies and states that Europe has an advantage in global economy, where sensitivity to other cultures and the ability to work in teams is increasingly important. In conclusion, the author states that to succeed, Europe has to take the areas in which it excels and build upon them in a supportive business environment.
