| Abstract: | Using data obtained from a broad base of North American manufacturing executives, the authors found that successful manufacturing firms concentrate their efforts on a few critical factors, and systematically avoid others. The study also reveals that superior manufacturing only improves the odds of relative business unit performance. It is up to the general management to seize the opportunities generated by manufacturing function that employs these success factors. The factors for manufacturing success are discussed in detail. |
