Abstract:The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) will generate billions of dollars in additional trade, investment and economic growth in Canada, Mexico and the United States over the next decade. Clients and employers will rely heavily on CPAs' advice in structuring the thousands of business transactions that will make up these gains. They will expect CPAs to be knowledgeable about financial practices, legal requirements and business cultures in all three countries and to be capable of delivering services throughout the region. Fortunately, the agreement anticipates these demands on professional service providers by making it easier for them to serve the entire North American market.
