| Abstract: | Organizations' internal capabilities enable sustained competitive advantage according to dynamic capability theory. Innovation in work practices, for example high performance, are an important source of these internal capabilities. Research evidence show s low levels of penetration. This paper uses a practice perspective and analyses 7 case study of establishments in the aerospace sector and identifies three themes that are under-attended to in current research on innovations in work practices. These themes are industry and production context, distributed nature of management activity and social embeddedness. |
