Abstract:This paper aims to identify the appropriate method, demonstrating with a prototype model, of how knowledge (here as: knwl.) in reliability (here as: relty.) management (here as: RM) can be uncovered from individuals and a team, as well. The approach is to find out the tacit knwl. of the relty. engineers using narratives and cognitive mapping through which patterns are revealed and an aggregate cognitive map for all participating members is produced. Provided is a real-life example to support the stages of learning from the individual, the group to the organizational level as described in the theoretical Learning Framework. Developed is a prototype in the organization of expertise knwl. in a bottom-up manner in the building of a corporate memory from individuals to team level in the RM in an airline company.
