Abstract:Little is known about the degree of agreement between supervisor and incumbent job evaluation ratings and so this study examined the effects of rater type /job incumbent versus supervisor/ on individual and subsequent consensus job evaluation ratings. Results show that job evaluation ratings of female incumbents were not significantly different from those of male incumbents and that bias in job evaluation may not be as great as has been previously suggested.
