Abstract:A lot of German managers believe that after corporate hierarchy has been flattened and lean production has been introduced nothing is left to do for future successes. However, basically new organizational forms must be used and the relations between managers and employees must be changed dramatically too. These issues are illustrated and analyzed through the examples of German corporations and experience of American management consultants. The problems and of changing the corporate organization and management culture are highlighted by studying the case of Volkswagen and Daimler Benz.
