| Abstract: | Sales of large domestic appliances amounted to areound 8mn units in 1998/99 valued at nearly £2.4bn. Some 37% by value was accounted for by washing machines and clothing dyers, 30% by refrigerators and freezers, 26% by gas and electric cookers and the balance of 7% by dishwashers. |
