Abstract:The purpose of this study is to estimate the lifelong effects for individuals in Canada who began engaging in prostitution as youths. Findings show that prostitutes have increased addictions, lower lifetime productivity and threats to physical and mental health following transition from the lifestyle. They are also potential for impeding labour market participation and most vulnerable to lifelong poverty.
