| Abstract: | This article reviews the development of telephone industry and the widening of this technological innovation during the first half of the twentieth century in Spain. Particular attention is paid on telecommunication company ITT and its monopoly on telephone industry and extension towards a multinational player in the market. The author highlights the impact of company strategy and relations between the company and government institutions on the development. |
