Abstract:The relationship between sex and the evaluation of direct and indirect influence tactics among Israeli managers is examined. According to Hypothesis 1, sex-role congruent expectations affect performance evaluation. According to Hypothesis 2, there is a preferred influence tactic for managers and subjects will rate the manager using the preferred tactic more favorably than the manager using the less preferred style, regardless of manager sex. The results support the latter hypothesis.
