Abstract: | A case history is presented of a major programme of research into public knowledge, attitudes and behavior in relation to the disease AIDS. The background of the question is cleared by data on the incidence and spread of the disease in Britain. Research goals are summarized and the research sample is described. Research methodology is outlined, the questionnaire design is examined. The reactions of interviewers are analyzed. Problems of project extension are discussed. Results are given to demonstrate changes in knowledge, attitudes and behavior over the period investigated. Concluding observations are summarized. |
