Abstract:Six alternative models are presented that incorporate individual earnings and profit sharing. The base argument is that wages are determined by productivity which varies by individual and firm's characteristics and, vice versa, productivity is affected by wages. The investigations presented in the paper speak in favour of the hybrid Tobit model. Not only the fact that workers participate in profits induces additional positive productivity effects but the level of individual profit sharing is also relevant and additional wage effects are the consequence.
