Abstract:To recruit and retain the best workers, managers will have to be more open to alternative work modes, such as telecommuting. This article reviews the strengths and weaknesses of telecommuting from management and employee viewpoints, and the results of this study suggest certain fundamental managerial prescriptions to help organizations enhance the success of their telecommuting arrangements, through these prescriptions are not all-inclusive.
