| Abstract: | It is a strange contrast that, while the number of the unemployed has reached 4 millions in Germany, there is a great spread demand for sevices which nobody provides so far. The author describes the situation of the service industry in Germany and presents a lot of examples for unsatisfied need for useful services. The job creating potential and the relation between employment and service industry are analyzed. He argues that those who lost their jobs in industry will never get new jobs there, so the only possibility to fight unemployment is to make the growth of service industry possible. |
