| Abstract: | In the case the governments want companies to create jobs they should concentrate on encouraging new firms to start up to serve the areas where society's needs are currently greatest, says the article author. Too many policy makers, however, are focusing on maintaining yesterday's skills or today's low skills through a process of slow-moving change. Why are governments not helping companies to boost skills through adequate training ? That is one of the several questions examined at the efmd's (European Forum for Management Development) annual European Small Business Seminar. |
